Princess Cruises announces longest-ever ex-UK season
Princess Cruises is renowned for offering some of the most sophisticated holiday experiences on the seas. Comfortable staterooms, spacious public areas, gourmet dining and enriching destination experiences are just a few of the significant factors that makes Princess Cruises that little bit extra special and will leave you – as the name suggests – feeling like a princess (or a prince).
It comes as fantastic news, therefore, that the line has announced that they will be operating their longest-ever ex-UK season in 2019. The 2,670-passenger Sapphire Princess will spend a total of 198 days sailing out of her homeport of Southampton, taking passengers to a range of destinations throughout the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
The line has outlined detailed plans for the upcoming 2019 cruising season and there are plans in place to ensure passengers enjoy the most enriching experience possible. Three new itineraries will include a 24-night “Canada & New England” roundtrip sailing from Southampton; a 12-night “Search for the Northern Lights” roundtrip from Southampton, and a 14-night “Mediterranean Explorer” roundtrip cruise from Southampton. The latter of these will take passengers away from so-called “regular” ports such as Barcelona and mainland Italy and France; instead opting for destinations including Portimao, Cadiz, Ajaccio and Ceuta.
In addition to these departures from Southampton, Princess Cruises will operate a number of sailings from the white cliffs of Dover. Passengers will have the opportunity to embark on a brand new 18-night ‘Greenland and Iceland’ roundtrip cruise, which will include port calls into Nanortalik, Qaqortoq, Reykjavik, Isafjordur and Akureyri.
Further still, cruisers in Ireland will not be left out of Princess Cruises deployment in and around the UK and Ireland. The line will operate their first roundtrip season out of Dublin, with Crown Princess operating a total of 11 sailings around the British Isles.
If you have embarked on a cruise with Princess Cruises, you will be fully aware of the expansive gastronomic offering available across the fleet. So it will come as no surprise to learn that Princess Cruises was awarded as the ‘Best Cruise Line for Food Lovers’ by Food & Wine Magazine. On board both Sapphire Princess and Crown Princess, you can enjoy a wide range of options including succulent steaks, fresh seafood, freshly-baked pizzas, divine chocolate creations and much more. Notably, guests dining in the Main Dining Room on board either vessel will have an opportunity to sample dishes that have been crafted by award-winning chef, Curtis Stone.
The fun doesn’t stop at the dining opportunities, however. On board entertainment can be discovered in the form of Broadway-style musicals in the Princess Theatre, where the stage transforms into a platform for dazzling lights, flamboyant dresses and spine-tingling music. Throughout the day, a stroll into the breath-taking piazza will offer something a little different, with impromptu live performances wooing gathering crowds. There’s also an on board casino, where you can try your luck at a range of games including blackjack, roulette and slots.
A cruise offers a unique way to holiday, whereby your holiday starts from the moment you board the ship. Settling in to your spacious stateroom or suite, you will be able to feel instantly relaxed as your resort-esque Princess Cruises vessel takes you from one spectacular destination to the next.
