Day 1
London Tilbury, UK, England

Tilbury’s position on the east coast of England and its proximity to London makes it a great location from which to embark on a cruise. This is made possible by the town’s deep-water port, which also handles a considerable number of container ships. Located in the Essex borough of Thurrock, Tilbury has a long history as a defensive town - which is epitomised by its 16th century fort.

Day 2
Rouen, France

The capital of the region of Normandy, Rouen lies along the River Seine, just 75 miles from its entrance on the English Channel. Rouen is perhaps most famous for being the site of the trial of Joan of Arc. Rouen also boasts a wealth of gothic architecture, which has named it the nickname “city of a hundred spires”. The most notable buildings are the spectacular Cathedrale Notre Dame and the Eglise St. Maclou, which is home to some of the finest wood carvings in France. Until the 19th century, Rouen was also the main seaport in France and is still a pleasure to sail to and from, with a varied and beautiful surrounding scenery, full of cliffs, forests, chateaux and abbeys.

Day 3
Honfleur, France

Honfleur is a peaceful and picturesque port on the estuary of the River Seine and its beauty has attracted many artists and writers over the years. These include: English painter Bonington, French painter Boudin, and French poet Charles Baudelaire. Throughout history, many maritime journeys were initiated from Honfleur, including Paulmier de Gouenville’s sailing to Brazil, and Jean Denis’ exploration of the St. Lawrence River. It is highly regarded as a settlement of charming historic features, with particular mention of the slate-and-timber fronted houses that overlook the colourful yacht and fishing harbour.
