Southampton, UK, England

Southampton’s location, at the foot of the United Kingdom, offers an ideal point from which to embark on a cruise out of the UK. With a total of four terminals, the city can accommodate some of the largest cruise vessels in the industry. With fantastic shopping opportunities and a large number of museums and art galleries, Southampton is a cosmopolitan city with a lot to offer visitors as well as those arriving in the area prior to embarking on a cruise.

Day 3
La Coruna, Spain

Situated in the Galicia region of north-west Spain, the city of La Coruña – also known as A Coruña – has become a centre for tourism. The city receives in excess of 60 cruise ship visits per year and, upon arrival, it is easy to understand why. A charming city square blends with relics such as the City Hall and a statue of the local heroine, Maria Pita. Many come to La Coruña, however, for its range of famed golden beaches which include Orzan and Riazor – both of which are situated in the heart of the city and are bordered by the promenade.

Lisbon, Portugal
Day 6
Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

Lanzarote is the northernmost and easternmost of the Canary Islands and is home to a number of unique volcanic landmarks that paint an image of the island’s origins. The Timanfaya National Park is made up of a volcanic landscape that has not changed since the last eruption on the island, in the early 18th century. This fascinating area covers a quarter of the island’s surface and offers an insight into the natural history of Lanzarote. Alternatively, make the most of the glorious weather by relaxing on one of the many superb golden beaches.

Day 8
Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

Tenerife is the largest island of the Canary Islands and is home to a number of fabulous golden beaches and fascinating natural landmarks. Due to its location, just off of the western coast of Africa, the year-round temperature rarely drops below the high teens, creating perfect conditions for a spot of sun-kissed relaxation. One of the most instantly recognisable landmarks of the island is El Teide, which is the third highest volcano in the world when measured from its base on the ocean floor. A cable car ride to the top of this UNESCO World Heritage Site will give you a deeper understanding of the volcano, while also offering fabulous views over the island.

Day 9
La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain
Day 10
Madeira, Madeira, Portugal

Situated just north of the Canary Islands is the Portuguese island of Madeira – a sub-tropical island known for its lush green and mountainous landscapes. This unique island is a nature-lover’s paradise, with volcanic caves, lava tubes, botanical gardens, and one of the world’s highest ocean cliffs all to be explored and admired. The island is also perfect for anyone looking to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife including a range of birds and a plethora of marine life in the surrounding waters.

Day 13
Lisbon, Portugal

Built on seven hills, the Portuguese capital of Lisbon shares a similar status to the Italian city of Rome and the Turkish city of Istanbul. This vibrant and cultural city has much to offer to the discerning visitor, with many beautiful gardens, stunning architectural wonders, and cultural relics such as the traditional trams which have operated in Lisbon since the 1930’s. Head to Cine Theatro Gymnasium if you get the chance, as this is where you will be able to experience a daily performance of Fado – a distinctive Portuguese style of music that has gained UNESCO World Heritage status.
